PACT UV Fungal Nail Treatment

Eliminate fungal infections in toenails

Fungal toenails can affect people of all ages. It is a condition that is generally pain free but can cause discomfort in the advanced stages. PACT UV treatment uses a UV-sensitive gel and UV light to target and destroy the active fungal spores. It is pain-free and has no reported side effects.

What To Expect From PACT UV Nail Treatment

PACT (Photodynamic Antimicrobial Therapy) UV fungal nail treatment involves reducing the fungal toenails and then treating the nails with PACT UV. The frequency varies depending on the severity of the fungal nail. Typically, it would entail 3 sessions in the first 1-2 weeks, and a repeat session at the 1 or 2 month mark.

The effectiveness of the treatment is assessed at the 3 month mark due to the time needed for the nail to regrow. After successful treatment, it is advisable to undergo treatment every 6 months for prophylaxis. It is important to note that prolonged exposure to PACT UV does not produce any side effects.

Tips to prevent fungal reinfection:

  • Dry and air shoes regularly
  • Spray shoes and socks with antifungal sprays before and after use
  • Wash socks in hot water and dry in direct sunlight
  • Wear slippers in common showers, swimming centres, and hotel rooms
  • Minimise micro-trauma to the nails
  • Do not share nail clippers and socks
